history of roman swords

You probably already know that legionaries of the Roman Empire used a historical short sword called a gladius (a Roman sword that has also been found in historical sites) when they went to war. The gladius sword averaged 18 to 24 inches in length and was inspired by Spanish swords in design.

Functions of Roman swords

The primary function of this Roman sword was thrusting and stabbing in hand-to-hand combat. However, today they can be used for historical reenactments or theatrical acts, while others are ideal for collectors.

  • FRANCISCO JUANUn producto realmente fabuloso,de magnífica hechura y entregado en muy poco tiempo.

  • PierluigiExcellent product; shipping was also very fast. Although it was being sent to Italy, customs unfortunately damaged the package (only the packaging—the item itself was perfectly intact), but that is not the fault of "Espadas y Más." I recommend them 100% and will definitely make more purchases from them in the future.
