Batman is a fictional comic book character created by Americans Bob Kane and Bill Finger and owned by DC Comics. He first appeared in the story "The Case of the Chemical Syndicate" in Detective Comics #27, published by National Publications on March 30, 1939.

The story behind the character:

Batman is the alter ego of Bruce Wayne, a billionaire playboy and philanthropist who, after witnessing the murder of his parents at the hands of a criminal when he was just 12 years old, swore to take revenge and fight crime. To do so, he trains himself physically and mentally, and creates a suit with which he becomes a masked vigilante who fights crime in Gotham City.

"Batman" is a complex and contradictory character. He is a rich and powerful man, but also a lonely and tormented man. He is a genius in combat and investigation, but also a vigilante who often resorts to violence.
