What weapons are prohibited in Spain?
In Spain, gun laws are strict and prohibit the possession and collection of certain weapons, even if you have a permit to own them. For example, concealed bladed weapons such as swords, batons, knives, or firearms disguised as everyday objects such as cards, pens, or belts are not permitted .
Switchblades are also banned in Spain . It is important to differentiate between switchblades and assisted opening knives. Switchblades open by pressing a button that releases the blade, while assisted opening knives require manual action to open and are permitted. Knowing this difference is crucial to avoid penalties for illegal gun possession.

In addition, possession of double-edged daggers, double-edged throwing knives and nunchucks is prohibited . The latter, known as two sticks linked by a chain and popularized by Bruce Lee in his films, became especially common among gang members in the 1980s, leading the government to ban them and include them on the list of prohibited weapons.
If you have the appropriate permit, you can possess government-licensed firearms and compressed gas weapons, whether real or simulated. However, these cannot be combined with bladed weapons.

Functional crossbows are prohibited, although decorative crossbows are permitted. Modified slingshots and blowguns, i.e. slingshots that are supported by the forearm, are also prohibited.

Other permitted weapons may be collected and used in sporting activities such as hunting, mountaineering, fishing, court practice or medieval fencing. In any case, they must never be carried on the street. If transported by car, they must be closed in a box or packed to demonstrate their purpose in the event of an inspection.
