Medieval Waist Shoes, Brown ULF-FW-12

Our soft waist shoes for children, men and women are made of thick buffalo leather. Each shoe consists of a single piece of leather, which is individually adapted to the foot by means of a lacing at the heel and a lacing at the forefoot. The waist shoes can be worn both barefoot and with wool socks.

This type of sandals was already known to the Romans and was worn by ordinary people until the Middle Ages. They came without seams and complicated cut-outs, and were therefore quick to produce.

Please note:
The sturdiness of shoes according to historical standards may not meet modern requirements! They are quite sensitive to asphalt, concrete blocks and gravel. These floor coverings did not exist in the Middle Ages! Therefore, we recommend using tripping, possibly insoles or reconditioning with rubber soles at the shoemaker of your choice.
We would also like to point out that leather is a natural product and that deviations in colour and/or grain are quite common. Therefore, with these leather shoes, no pair is like the other and the illustrations above are for exemplary display only.
