Our Sugar Loaf Helmet is handcrafted from 12 gauge steel (for the skull) and 14 gauge steel for the rest of the helmet. The brass cross is also 12 gauge. As such, this rugged helmet is perfect for the reenactment field! The steel has a satin finish like many original pieces of armor. This helmet features a padded liner and a buckled leather chin strap.
Specs:
Steel baldric and brass cross made from 2mm plate, rest from 1.6mm steel. The thickness of the steel may vary due to the handcrafting of our products. This item has a satin finish which means it has a slightly reflective surface, similar to the finishes on many original armors. Carbon steel is untreated so it may have rust, easily removable. You can protect this item from rust with our Ballistol oil.
