The loose-fitting dress has slightly flared 3/4 sleeves and so-called geren are worn at the side of the waist. Geren are wedge-shaped pieces of fabric that gave the garment its generous hem width in the Middle Ages.
The special feature of this dress is the contrasting details. These make it clear that this is an upper garment from the High Middle Ages. The neckline is provided in the middle of the back with a small slit, which is closed with a button.
The dress is made of plain cotton fabric and should be worn with a leather belt. The appearance and cut of the dress is based on archaeological finds ( 6th century Woodlings Lady )
and depictions from the High Middle Ages (Stuttgart Psalter from the 9th century) . Typical for this period are long, simple-cut upper garments consisting mainly of rectangles and contrasting details. The dress is therefore the ideal garment for all Vikings, Lombards, Merovingians and Franks.
