Norman One-Handed Sword

The ULF-SW-03B is a Norman style one-handed sword, which is designed to be a practical and useful combat tool. The Normans, who were known to be skilled in warfare, were descended from the Vikings, and the Norman sword is very similar to the Viking sword in terms of design and functionality.

The sword has Type 6 quillons and a Type A pommel, which typologically classifies it as an Oakshott Type X sword. The EN45 spring steel blade is forged and riveted to the end of the handle. The wooden handle is wrapped in leather, and the quillons are forged from steel. With a pronounced groove on the blade, the sword is springy and light in the hand, while maintaining its strength and durability.

The blade is oil hardened and tempered to a Rockwell hardness of approximately 48-50 HRC. The blade measurement is 74.7 cm with a width of 5.0 cm at the parier and a thickness of 4 mm. The focus on the sword is 14.5 before the guard making it easy to maneuver in combat. The blunt edge is slightly rounded making it safe for use in training and combat. The one handed sword has an overall length of approximately 91 cm and a weight of around 950 g.
