The bascinet, also known as the kettle bell or bascinet, developed in the early 14th century from the cervelliere and spread through the 15th century.
The brim is placed with the leather hem on the eyelet pins at the edge of the pelvic hood and is secured with a leather cord. In addition, the helmet has a solid padded insert, which can be adjusted in fit for the wearer.
