The Barbuta is the Italian version of the late medieval shape, it is reminiscent of ancient helmet shapes.
The bascinet, bassinet, basnet or kettle-bell call, developed in the early 14th century from the simpler cervelliere and was usually often worn with a chain mail cuirass.
This fully battle-ready replica by ULFBERTH® is based on a so-called Welschen Beckenhaube from the year 1470. The original is now in the Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg.
The helmet has a very comfortable padded fabric entry and a solid chin strap with buckle.
