This fully battle-ready and highly authentic replica helmet is part of the famous Avant armour at Glasgow's Kellingrove Museum. The armour dates back to around 1440.
This type of helmet was mainly used in northern Italy in the late Middle Ages, but was used throughout Europe.
The hull is made of 2mm thick steel:
Hand operated in two parts, then carefully welded, cleaned and polished.
The helmet has a very comfortable padded fabric inlay and a solid chin strap with buckle.
