The Hundsgugel is a late 1420's variation of the Hundsgugel was the preferred helmet form among the more noble knights, its distinctive visor design helped this helmet earn its name Hundsgugel (= Dog's hat/dog's head) and its widespread use throughout Central Europe.
Our reproduction is based on one in Milan around BC 1390a. The steel plate is 2 mm thick per side, riveted and welded and secured due to its robustness great protection during the fight.
The helmet has a hinged visor, which is also completely removable by means of pins attached to chains. In addition, the helmet has a comfortable padded fabric inlay.
Side-mounted brass rivets are used to attach the chest and shoulders.
