Seax (also known as sax, sá¦x, sex or sachsum) is the Old English word for ?knife?. In modern archaeology, the term seax is used specifically to designate a type of sword or dagger typical of the Germanic Peoples of the Migration Period and the Early Middle Ages, especially the Saxons, whose name was probably derived from this weapon.
This Viking 'Seax' has a long blade decorated with letters from the runic alphabet. Vikings believed that runes possessed magical power and often inscribed them on blades to increase their power. Replica of a Seax displayed at the British Museum. The pommel is leather-wrapped for a firm grip. This knife is surprisingly light and fast.
Runic Long Seax comes with a brown leather sheath and two hanging straps.
