The CST-88RPS Polish Sabre is a replica of a historic 17th century blade, used both on foot and on horseback by Polish nobles on the battlefield. With a fearsome reputation due to its incredible cutting ability, Cold Steels®’s modern version of this sabre was developed by custom blade maker Dave Baker.

1055 Carbon Steel Blade: Stability and Strength

The CST-88RPS Polish Saber is made from 1055 carbon steel, a very stable material that is free of the brittleness inherent in most high carbon steels. This type of steel is ideal for blades that are supposed to have high impact resistance and is often used for fixed knives, machetes, and used swords.

With its fully sharpened, distally tonic and highly curved blade, the CST-88RPS Polish sabre has incredible cutting ability but is also rigid enough to effectively carry out impact attacks. Optimal hand protection is achieved by its brass-inlaid handle and crossguard, and it also has a thumb ring to facilitate the so-called moulinet, a technique that allows the user to keep the blade continuously in motion in order to be able to parry, cut and change direction at lightning speed. The striking wire-wrapped handle made of red leather and the matching leather scabbard make this sword not only functional but also aesthetically appealing.
