The appearance of rigid pieces to complete the protection of chain mail was something to be expected in the medieval arms race. From the end of the 13th century, pieces of this type can be found in illuminations, funerary sculptures and other sources, demonstrating an improvement in the protection of the most exposed points of the knights.
Specs:
Made of 1.6mm steel, lined with canvas for better grip.
Steel thickness may vary due to the handcrafting of our products. Carbon steel is not treated so it may rust, which is easily removable. You can protect this item from rust with synthetic or mineral oil.
