Arm Guards - Steel 300348

The vambrace (from aván, a contraction of avante, in front, and brazo) or forearm bracer was a constituent piece of armor, which served to cover and defend the forearm. It was attached to the arm guard (or arm bracer) by means of the codal.

This pair of steel arm guards are very well shaped and lined with leather with straps on the inside to provide a perfect fit.

The lower arm was one of the main targets of the sword as the head and hands were protected by armour. In many cases, the guards were the only piece of armour worn, most often with a chainmail shirt. This pair of steel arm guards are perfect alongside a wide variety of period costumes and weapons. They have straps on the inside to provide a perfect fit.
