Not only in battle, but also on the court or at social events, a breastplate is an interesting accessory for nobles, soldiers or knights. During the 15th century, the use of plate armour is becoming common, so the breastplate becomes a necessity for period reenactment. This German-style breastplate could be used anywhere in Europe during the years 1450 to 1500. Combined with arm and leg armour, it makes a very nice composition for a heavy infantryman.
