With Cold Steels, the new rubber-made training knives can have a relatively low risk of injury compared to the most popular knife train designs. The training versions are modeled as closely as possible on the original knives, so that different combat situations can be effectively trained. Made of Santoprene, the blades are soft enough to virtually rule out serious physical injuries. They do, however, have a certain hardness, so it is advisable to secure at least the eyes and face with suitable eye protection or a fencing mask.
