The Shark Lock™ mechanism, designed and developed by Andrew Demko, is finally here! Simple one-handed opening and closing, smooth cage bearings, Grivory handle and steel liner – this knife is up to the task!
The Shark Lock™ mechanism is located on the back of the knife and is operated via a kind of ramp reminiscent of a shark fin. When the blade is opened, the spring-loaded locking arm moves up and engages a notch in the tang, placing it under a locking clip. This range of motion is worth mentioning and is unique in that the locking mechanism moves both forward and backward, as well as up and down. This leaves more room for a larger blade, which has mechanical advantages in certain areas. And since the spring, which moves the locking arm up into the locked position, is built directly into the arm, it remains protected from dirt. In terms of size and weight, the Shark is comparable to most tri-ad locks.
In testing, the AD-20.5 was able to withstand a torque of approximately 98.86 Nm (875 in-lb), a truly impressive result for a lightweight 100 g (3.5 oz.) knife!
The AD-20.5 is as fun as it is practical. The radically new locking system not only provides reliable protection for your precious fingers, but also with its "fin" a comfortable thumb ramp with jimping, which provides even better control. The additional jimping on the back of the blade also contributes to the ease of use of the knife.
Here we offer a high quality EDC folder at a fair price.
