Fingerless gauntlets or mittens like these are commonly seen in various depictions throughout the golden age of armor between 1400 and 1500.
This particular model is based on those found on the excellent Milanese armour known among experts as the 'Avant' due to the inscription repeated on its skirt. In use among cavalry and infantry alike, due to artistic representations it appears to be a protection that was favoured by those who normally used polearms.
Specs:
Made of 1.6mm steel. Steel thickness may vary due to the handcrafting of our products. Carbon steel is not treated so it may rust, which is easily removable. You can protect this item from rust with our Ballistol oil.
