Left-handed daggers, also called parrying daggers, and sometimes known as Main Gauche, became a popular choice to combine with a rapier, or point and cut sword. Their advantages are undeniable, since in the absence of a buckler they allow the fencer an excellent combination of offense and defense that, in the right hands, will lead to control of the enemy's weapon to easily score on the opponent. There are countless fencing books that talk about these combinations, so Marshal Historical has decided to make its version. In this case a dagger known as "hook dagger", and which offers a good curved spur to catch the opponent's blade, and a side ring to protect the hand from cuts and stabs. Although somewhat heavier than its smaller sisters, the intention of the additional weight is to ensure that the enemy's long weapon can be controlled, and to be able to move aside or swing, when necessary. Countless great duelists, fencers, and soldiers have carried daggers like this throughout their campaigns. The dagger is given as a gift with a lightly embossed sheath, ready for you to add a ferrule and show it off as if it were the pride of your collection.
