Hanwei Orchid Katana

The Hanwei Orchid Katana, also known as the Orchid Katana SH1207, is an impressive samurai sword with a relatively light blade made of folded K120C powder steel. In addition to its elegant appearance, this katana stands out for its agility and the clarity of its hamon line. The hamon also shows clearly recognizable different layers.

The Orchid Katana features a medium-length kissaki, and high-quality ray skin has been used for its tsuka. The tsuka-ito and sageo are woven from high-quality Japanese cotton, and the blackened iron tsuba features brass and copper embellishments. Additionally, the saya comes painted in an elegant dark shade of blue, while the koiguchi and kurikata are made from buffalo horn.

The fuchi, kashira and kojiri are made of bronze-coated iron with silver and gold details, while the habaki is made of brass in one piece. In this way, it has been possible to create a katana of great beauty and quality, which is not only a collector's item, but also an efficient cutting tool.

It is worth noting that Hanwei has focused on traditional manufacturing to create this katana. To do so, a hand-forging and folding process has been used, which has allowed obtaining a blade with differential hardening.
