The Hanwei SH1002 Bamboo Katana is a perfect example of how a tradition can adapt and evolve in a changing world. The SH1002 combines a carved bamboo sword scabbard with a handle and blade, hand-forged from 1065 carbon steel and hardened in a clay layer in the traditional manner. This technique ensures the hardness of the edge and the strength of the body of the blade, two essential characteristics of any samurai sword.

The blade of this bamboo katana is particularly impressive, hand-carved and with a real hardness line. The material used for the blade is 1065 carbon steel, a material known for its strength and durability.
