The HN-SH2417 Raptor Katana, Shobu Zukuri is a masterpiece of elegance and functionality. With impressive cutting ability, this katana is characterized by the Shobu Zukuri shape, without yokote (ridge line on the top). This design was popularized in the Namboku-cho period (1336-1392) and remains highly valued to this day.

Hanwei's Raptor Series, under the direction of sword master James Williams, is specifically designed for those who do not have access to a training facility, but wish to train and perfect their blade skills. Each blade is forged from 5160 carbon steel and undergoes a special heat treatment to ensure its strength.

The Raptor Katana Shobu-Zukuri is a historically faithfully designed sword with an overall length of approximately 109.2 cm and a blade length of around 73.7 cm. Weighing approximately 1219 g, this katana is balanced and easy to handle. The alder, which is constructively full-length with two joined Mekugis, supports a blade forged with attention to detail.

The Tsuka (wooden core) handle is wrapped in real stingray skin, with a special brushed handle cover providing optimal grip and wear resistance. Raptor feathers as a decorative motif (Menuki) add a touch of style. The tsuba (guard) is made of traditional blackened iron with a bird of prey motif, while the fittings (Fuchi/Kashira) are blackened steel with the same bird of prey motif.

The wooden scabbard is designed with a fingerprint-repellent finish and a durable build.
