Paul Chen's Yari was an essential Samurai weapon on the battlefields of feudal Japan, and due to its size and length requires great skill to guide and maneuver.
This piece is for the Su-Yari, or "straight spear" design. The triangular double-edged blade was forged from T10 carbon steel and fitted with a deep groove on the flat side of the blade.
Through heat treatment, a clear hardening line (Hamon) is left on each cutter to recognize. The tang is long in order to ensure better shock absorption. The shaft (UER) has a black lacquered surface and has a flat part on the bottom for better recognition of the blade position. The durability of the spear is further enhanced by the construction of the rod in one piece.
This version features an 11 inch (28 cm.) long blade, making the spear a fast weapon. The top handle is also wrapped with rattan, to give it an impressive look.
