The HN-SH1092 is a replica of a historic design from the 17th century, where curved-handled baskets were a common feature used in rapier fencing. These baskets were often custom made by regional swordsmiths and featured a variety of designs. Paul Chen's (Hanwei) replica of the HN-SH1092 features a high-grade carbon steel blade, an elegant solid steel handle basket, and a solid bone grip for enhanced grip.

The HN-SH1092 measures around 115 cm long in total, with an approximate blade length of 93 cm and a focus of 12.7 cm. The vibration point of the blade is located about 76 cm from the tip and the width of the blade at Parier is around 1.9 cm, while the width at the tip is about 0.8 cm. The thickness of the blade at Parier is approximately 0.65 cm, while at the tip it is about 0.4 cm. This ensures an authentic and effective fencing experience.
