When the experienced trapper Anton Lennartz brings an axe he developed himself onto the market, one can rightly expect a product that stands out from the established competition in terms of variety of applications and practicality. Conventional axes are often too heavy for outdoor activities, mostly too unwieldy, in many cases too expensive and almost without exception difficult to transport. The crux of the matter: small axes are useless for many tasks, axes of sufficient size do not fit into the backpack and put a strain on the user with their heavy weight. Tony realizes that the axe can be disassembled with a conical wooden shaft ground at the front and an axe head that can be pushed open from the handle side. With the first blow, the shaft is fixed in the eye of the axe head by centrifugal force, so that it can no longer be resolved by itself. A light blow in the axial direction on the rear of the shaft releases the head from the shaft and it can be separated from the shaft. The axe head is designed in such a way that it is a useful tool even without the shaft. Instead of a continuous blade, the Travelhawk's cutting edge is connected to the top by a kind of bridge. This construction makes it possible to grip the axe head with the hand without the shaft and the blade like a plane, use a knife or a riving knife.
