All Cold Steel® Tomahawks are also differentially hardened: the cutting edge and striking surface of the hammer are fully hardened so they can be sharpened, while the rest of the head is kept softer to cushion shock and impact.

Spike Hawk, Flat Texture Finish Cold Steels® Spike Hawk has a drop forged, differentially hardened blade and a strong steel tip. This unusual axe is very popular with sport throwers as it can penetrate deep into wooden targets with both the blade and tip, thus doubling the chances of a successful throw! A handmade leather sheath, in which the tip and blade can be safely stored, is available separately.
