Cold Steel® has always been an admirer of the ruthless cutting power of a well-designed Viking axe. In the past, however, it was not technically possible for the company to produce a satisfactory model. But since the recent commissioning of its own ultra-modern forge, Cold Steel® has been able to create a truly extraordinary axe that meets the requirements it has been able to offer .

The Cold Steel® Viking Long Axe is impressively long and its thin blade has been hand-honed to an incredible sharpness. It has a sturdy cutting edge that is about 25 cm long and ends with two sharp horns or points. The longer upper point was generally used for stabbing or parrying, while the slightly shorter lower point was used to capture an enemy shield or to capture and immobilize the opponent by the neck, arm or leg.

To maximize leverage, strength, and movement abilities, the Viking Long Axe is equipped with a very stable and sturdy shaft. Made in the US state of Maine from the finest hickory wood available, this shaft increases and reinforces the Viking Long Axe's incredible potential as a cutting and splitting instrument.
