Franziska Throwing Axe by Paul Chen
The Franziska, named for its Franconian origins, was used by the Franks as a throwing weapon and for hand-to-hand combat.
The elegant form of this axe is legendary, and the raised upper blade tip and downward-curving edge could equally penetrate chain armour.
This Franziska, made by Paul Chen at the Hanwei Forge, features a forged axe head with a grey weathered look, as well as a thickened hardwood shaft at the top, ensuring that the axe head is held securely. As with the originals, the shaft is also slightly curved back to increase the axe's sticking potential when throwing.
From Hanwei company.
