Axe of Ivar the Boneless
Ivar the Boneless was a Viking prince and son of Ragnar Lothbrok. His intelligence and strategic understanding made him successful as a Viking and dangerous as an opponent on the battlefield.
Ivar and his brothers invaded England along with armies of Viking warriors… not to gain wealth or prosperity, but to conquer. The 14-year war against the Saxon kingdoms in the 9th century might have been revenge for the death of his father Ragnar in previous years. However, some say this war served to reclaim lands once held by Ragnar.
Whatever the reason for this years-long war, one thing was clear: Ivar the Boneless was a cunning warrior and someone to be feared on the battlefield: he was a true son of Ragnar Lothbrok.
