Being mainly an Iberian trend, this type of gorget is ideal for combining with early bascinets or morions worn by the Spanish troops during the golden years of the empire. The gorget that we see at the end of the 15th century is the logical evolution of armour towards a composite form of protection. From the bascinet with a vent and visor, to the helmet combined with the gorget there is an understandable improvement. In this combination the protection is rigid at the neck but articulated to achieve a great improvement in effectiveness.

Specs:

Made of 1.6mm steel. It comes with a strap to attach it to other pieces, but can be easily removed.

Steel thickness may vary due to the handcrafting of our products. Carbon steel is not treated so it may have rust, which is easily removable. You can protect this item from rust with our Ballistol oil.
