This gambeson is made and stuffed with cotton and is based on an original by Charles de Blois. The excellent gambeson is designed for wearing armour and features cotton buttons, which allow the pieces to be worn stiffly as they flatten under the armour without causing discomfort. Its proven and historic design allows for excellent mobility of the arms and body in general.
Charles de Blois was the Duke of Brittany and nephew of the King of France during the beginning of the Hundred Years' War. He was a devout Christian and an accomplished military leader, who died at the Battle of Auray in 1367.
This gambeson can be used in training as such or under armour. This beautiful garment can of course be worn just as well as a civilian jacket as many pouring points were, even the original. Thickness approx. 4 mm
Material: Made of 100% cotton for both the fabric and the padding.
