Biblical Falchion-Fausal Maciejowski two-handed

This two-handed Maciejowski Biblical Falchion made by Marshal Historical has a high carbon steel blade; the hilt is formed from two wooden halves riveted to the blade tang.

A larger two-handed helicopter-shaped swashbuckler is depicted in the 13th-century Maciejowski Illuminated Bible; from these depictions, Marshal Historical has created a version of this unique weapon. It is not conclusively known whether such weapons actually existed or are simply a flight of an illuminator's fancy, but it is depicted in the company of other weapons and armour of which examples have survived.

The blade of this weapon is clearly designed to deliver wrenching blows and cuts – the wider tip of the blade ensures that there is enough mass to drive the blade through its target. It is certainly a sinister looking weapon design with a limb-slashing bite to match.

A long grip gives the wielder enough leverage to counterbalance the blade and ensure that it remains agile enough to be a dedicated weapon and not simply an improvised farming tool. Because of its long grip and relatively short blade for a two-handed weapon, this Marshal Historical recreation of this falchion doesn't feel too heavy.

Please note: The wood used for the hilt halves and the stain used to finish them may vary. Dimensions such as blade or hilt length may also vary.
