German rapier with scabbard

The German Rapier with Scabbard, 17th Century 0180002527 is a meticulously reconstructed replica of the original early 17th century sword. This one-handed Renaissance sword was used by European nobility and the upper middle class in combat and as a decorative object. The rapier is very popular as an edged weapon and was primarily designed as a stabbing weapon, but could still be used effectively as a cutting weapon.

The blade is constructed from EN45 spring steel, ensuring durability and strength. The cross-section is diamond-shaped and the tip is razor-sharp, while the cutting edges are not sharpened to prevent accidents. The hilt has a complex and elegant design, with an S-shaped guard and a guard ring on one side made from mild steel, providing a firm grip. The grip section has a wooden core and a wire-wound steel and brass wire. The pommel, as well as the guard, are likewise made from mild steel, ensuring the sophisticated aesthetics of the weapon.

The sword has an overall length of about 109 cm and a blade length of about 92 cm including Ricasso (about 88 cm without it). The thickness of the blade is about 6 mm mostly and 3 mm for the cutting edges. The maximum width of the blade is about 2 cm and the centre of gravity is centred about 6.5 cm from the crossguard.

The rapier is delivered with a beautiful wooden scabbard, covered with black leather that has a steel mouth guard and a cape. The weight of the weapon without a scabbard is about 1.1 kg, while with the scabbard it weighs about 1.35 kg.

It should be noted that this sword is not suitable for display combat and is intended as a collector's item or decorative object, making it ideal as an accessory to complete a costume. All in all, the German Rapier with Scabbard, 17th Century 0180002527 is a stunning piece that reflects the style and sophistication of European nobility and is sure to be the centerpiece of any collection.
