Robin Hood Sword Silver Enameled Blue made by the prestigious Marto de Toledo factory
Robin Hood, "The King of the Forest", the outlaw who roamed Sherwood Forest in the early 14th century, was born around 1290, son of Adam Hood, a forester in the service of the Earl of Warenne and lord of the Lordship of Wakefield.
Robin Hood became a popular hero for his defense of the helpless; Robin Hood's sword was always at the service of the poor. He seized the wealth of the powerful and distributed it to the poor; and by mocking the unpopular authorities of the time, he won the support of the oppressed peasants.
Robin Hood's adventures in the woods continued until about 1346; he is said to have died in that year at Kirklees Monastery.
The story ends with Robin Hood, sword in hand, sounding his hunting horn for the last time before dying by shooting an arrow from his bedroom window into the forest and asking to be buried where the arrow had landed. The spot Robin chose as his grave can still be seen today.
Robin Hood is a romantic story that has remained alive and has been told and retold for 600 years, giving rise to a series of creations, among which we can highlight the reconstruction of the mythical sword of Robin Hood.
