MARTO sword of Charles V

This sword of Charles V is made with the best stainless steel from Toledo by the prestigious brand Marto. It measures 100 cm and weighs 2.2 kg.

The MARTO sword of Charles V 381 is a historical representation of the sword used by the Holy Roman Emperor, Charles V of Spain (also known as Charles I of Spain). This emperor, son of Joanna I of Castile and Philip I the Handsome, was elected Holy Roman Emperor in 1519, reigning alongside his mother in a nominal capacity over all the kingdoms and territories of Spain under the name of Charles I from 1516 to 1556.

One of the reasons why Charles V was known in his time as "THE Emperor" is because no other king ever managed to unite such an immense empire under his command. In his person, the territories that came from the quadruple inheritance of his grandparents were united: Habsburg (Maximilian I), Burgundian (Mary of Burgundy), Aragonese (Ferdinand the Catholic) and Castilian (Isabel the Catholic).

After so much time of war and conflict, Charles V retired to the Monastery of Yuste, where he remained for a year and a half in retreat, far from political life and spiritually guided by the Order of the Hieronymites until his last days. During his retirement, Charles V began to reflect on himself, life, his experiences and on the state of Europe. In this sense, he became aware that Europe was heading towards being governed by new princes who, in the name of maintaining their own States, did not try in the least to alter the political-religious balance within each of them.

The MARTO sword of Charles V 381 is made in Toledo, a Spanish city with a long tradition in the manufacture of swords and weapons. This high-quality sword is part of the exclusive collection "Historical, Fantastic and Legendary Swords" manufactured by MARTO. It is a high-quality sword with a Certificate of Quality and Origin, and has a length of 100 cm, a width of 21 cm and a weight of 2.2 kg.
