This longsword with guard ring is a unique piece that represents the transition between the European Middle Ages and the Renaissance. With side rings attached to both sides of the guard bars, it offers better protection for the hands without significantly increasing the weight of the weapon.

Its long, broad, double-edged blade, forged from EN45 spring steel, has several grooves on each side with a main groove between two short decorative grooves. It also features a cross-bowl housing an inverted stopper pommel and a slightly downward-bent guard bar around 19cm long, also with D-shaped guard rings, all made from steel.

The handle is made of a wooden core covered with leather and steel. The first half adjacent to the guard is covered with black leather, while the rest of the handle is wrapped with twisted steel wire.

It comes with a scabbard made of wood and black leather with mouth plate, band in place, central band and movable steel support rings. It should be noted that this sword is not suitable for show combat and is primarily intended as a collector's or decorative item, being an ideal accessory to complete a medieval costume.

In terms of specifications, the overall length of the sword is about 116 cm, the blade length is about 90 cm, and the handle length is about 26 cm (the handle is about 18 cm). The blade width is about 4.5 cm, and the blade thickness is about 4 mm (the cutting edges are about 1 mm thick). The center of gravity is about 12 cm in front of the guard. The weight without scabbard is about 1.65 kg, and with scabbard is about 2.23 kg. It is possible that these specifications vary slightly from sample to sample.

It is recommended to maintain the blade regularly to preserve the steel. Ballistol, a universal oil, is ideal for preserving steel products. In short, this sword is an excellent choice that offers great value for money for anyone interested in history and medieval weapons.
