Knight's sword Lake Neuchâtel

If you are a true medieval history enthusiast and love replicas of ancient weapons, this item is perfect for you. It is a faithful reproduction of the Lake Neuchâtel knight's sword with scabbard from the 13th century. This impressive decorative sword is inspired by the original weapon that was recovered from Lake Neuchâtel in Switzerland and soon became a unique piece that is part of the permanent collection of the National Museum in Zurich.

The original sword was classified as Oakeshott Type XIV and had a broad blade that evenly tapered to a sharp point that increased its stitching strength without compromising its cutting and slicing ability. An intrinsic detail that makes it even more interesting is the enigmatic inscription N n ST, engraved in the hollow. This sequence of letters is believed to represent an abbreviation for a prayer or invocation to God, although experts still debate its actual meaning.

The replica we present to you has been crafted from strong, double-edged EN45 spring steel. In addition, it features elaborate engravings in the hollow, which are an exact reproduction of the drawings that adorn the original. The cutting edges have not been sharpened in order to ensure your safety, and the handle is composed of a slightly bent protective bar, a sturdy disc knob and a handle section with a wooden core wrapped in a thin blue leather strap. The parier and the Knauf are also made from solid steel.

The medieval knight sword is delivered with an elegant blue wooden/leather scabbard with two length-adjustable carrying straps made of black leather and brass buckles in antique finish. It is important to clarify that this item is not suitable for show fighting, but is designed as a collector's item or a decorative object. Moreover, it is a perfect accessory to complete a costume and become a proud knight.

The technical specifications of the sword include an overall length of approximately 83.5 cm, a blade length of approximately 66 cm, and a blade thickness of approximately 5 mm (cutting edges approximately 1 mm). The handle is made of wood with a leather strap, and the guard and pommel are made of steel. The blade has a width of around 6.2 cm, and the center of gravity is located approximately 11 cm in front of the guard. The weight without the scabbard is approximately 1.58 kg, while the weight with the scabbard is approximately 2.1 kg, although it should be noted that specifications may vary slightly from specimen to specimen.

To keep the blade in perfect condition, we recommend that you regularly care for it with a universal oil, such as Ballistol, which is ideal for preserving steel products. Don't think twice and get yourself this impressive Lake Neuchâtel knight's sword with scabbard from the 13th century now and be the envy of all your friends.
