Viking shield with Fenrir motif

The Viking shield we offer here is made of approx. 13 mm thick plywood, covered with linen, and decorated with a hand-painted stylized motif of the wolf Fenrir (also Fenris or Fenrisúlfr ) and a sequence of runes from the Elder Futhark (oldest runic alphabet) spelling out his name.

At its center, the shield features a generously sized steel boss that is held firmly in place with four rivets, and leaves enough room to accommodate even the hefty hands of a Viking. The back of the shield is painted black and fitted with a solid wooden handle.

Although this early medieval wooden shield may be a bit too light and thin for full contact, it is still a great prop for reenactment, LARP, stage or TV/film and will make your transformation into a proud Norse warrior perfect. Moreover, it is also a nice collectible or display piece for all Viking Age enthusiasts.
