 Hunting with the Pack The White Wolf Norman Shield from Epic Armory is a leaf-shaped shield inspired by early 11th century Norman soldiers, used during the Norman Conquest of England. Also called a Kite Shield, this 115cm long shield is rounded at the top and tapers towards the bottom - perfect for both mounted cavalry and field soldiers. This safe Live Action Role Play (LARP) shield is carved from EVA foam and coated with a layer of durable latex, and is designed to look like real wooden slats. A shield boss is attached to the front, as would have been common during the time of the First Crusade. The Norman shield has been hand painted white with a red wolf tribal design, faded and distressed for the battlefield. Hold this shield on your left or right arm thanks to the six adjustable leather armlets on the back. This is a great alternative to a cuff, which is used specifically to offset the unique shape of the Kite Shield. Keep your shield in excellent condition with regular latex maintenance. A Norman War Piece This shield is considered a 'kite shield' The round-tipped kite shield was popular in Europe during the 1000s, then spread to the Middle East due to the First Crusade. The shape of this shield would have been ideal for mounted cavalry to protect their left leg as well as their shoulder and torso.
