Originally used for battle, this sturdy shield is made of strong wood and covered in soft leather. This Targe shield has a historical design in brass and beautiful studs. Two leather grip straps on the back.
All the romance of the Scottish Highlands is reflected in this Targe shield. Anglo-Saxon shield (13th-14th century) originally used in battle and jousting. From the 17th century until the Battle of Culloden (1746), the targe was the most widely used means of defence in battles in the Scottish Highlands.
