Roman Utiliy Knife with Bone Handle Handmade Roman Knife
hand with decorative bone hilt. The blade has the typical curvature of a Roman knife. The curve allows for the use of more force when cutting due to the additional pressure with the index finger or thumb on the blunt back of the blade. Knives of this type and of different sizes were found in military and civilian archaeological sites.
