Extrema Ratio developed the first knife of a new production line called CONTACT.

It has a blade with a lance-shaped profile, a flat grind and a diamond-shaped geometry. It has a lower guard to protect the hand from accidental cuts, an upper jimping to improve grip, a concave groove along the entire length of the blade and a generously thick blade (6.30 mm). All these details make the Contact the older brother of the now famous Requiem, which has been revised in its proportions and some technical features. The first of a new line of multi-purpose knives.

The blade is made of Bá¶hler N690 steel with a hardness of 58 HRC and a chemical polishing coating for the black version. All other colours in production have a blade with a stonewashed finish. The handle is still made of forprene. It is no longer mounted with the side screws, but thanks to the truncated stainless steel shaft that is screwed to the ground and fits into a special seat that makes it solid. In this way the knife remains well balanced. The sheath is minimalist; most of the fabric is cut away; it has a retention system that recalls the style of the model it was inspired by.

The main housing is injection molded from shockproof nylon. The secondary fastening system can be implemented for ambidextrous users. The blade is drawn into the sheath thanks to its conical shape, which is well suited for quick insertion and extraction of the blade. To draw the blade, all you need to do is press the pressure lever, which releases the safety device that holds the blade securely in the sheath. A system is installed in the horizontal slots of the sheath that fixes the blade in place to prevent any rattling noise when stored inside. The back of the nylon sheath is MOLLE compatible.

The textile part is reduced to a minimum and has the classic two-button safety strap with belt loop and a thigh strap with rubber reinforcement to prevent rotation. Extrema Ratio aims for this new line by reducing the thickness and size of the knife to a minimum, but without sacrificing structural strength and safety accessories.
