With the SCHNITZEL "DU" ("Two"), Schnitzel Germany is expanding its range. This model is designed for use by older children or teenagers between 10 and 18 years of age.
But adults will also enjoy the DU, as the length of the blade and the handle have grown. Unlike the Schnitzel UNU, the DU has a real point. The blade also has a classic, versatile Scandi cut typical of knives from Scandinavia (without a second cutting chamfer). This knife with full tang construction is sharply ground because less pressure during carving minimises the risk of injury.

Note: Due to the classic Scandi cut, we recommend that you do some rough work such as beating thick branches with an axe or hatchet.
To prevent the thumb from slipping while working, effective jimping was applied to the back of the blade.

Behind the jimping there is a small "gap" that allows for the effective use of a fire steel, as in this area the back of the blade is sharper than the rest of the back of the knife.
The blade itself is made from the robust, high-quality Swedish Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel and ends in a slight drop point.
The blade thickness of the DU does not decrease, but it has a consistent robust 3.1 mm Swedish steel. To further counteract any corrosion of the steel when used harder, this outdoor knife has a matte anti-corrosion finish on the surface, which further improves longevity and gives the knife an attractive appearance.

The scabbards ensure a secure grip and a finger guard prevents the index finger from slipping over the cutting edge. Screw sleeves matching the matte finish of the blade (inner diameter 3 mm) allow easy disassembly for knife care. In addition, a paracord lanyard can be attached as a grip loop at will. Last but not least, the sheath should be mentioned.

Robust and almost completely forgiving Kydex sheath. Moisture, mud and cold cannot harm it. Fitting like a second skin, it closes around the knife and allows for an absolutely safe way of using it.
As a special feature, a Kydex-supported fire steel is attached to the Kydex rod, which is held securely by an elastic band that is colour-coordinated with the handle (even after wear). The fire steel is easily ignited in the recess on the back of the blade.
