Drop Forged Survivalist Cold Steels CST-36MH Survival Knife

The Cold Steels® Drop Forged model was chosen by company President Lynn C. Thompson as its one-piece construction made from a solid piece of steel sets new standards in terms of stability and durability. With a monolithic (one-piece) diameter, the knives in the Cold Steels® Monolithic Axe and Tool® series are not cheap castings, but are forged from 52100er carbon steel. In all models of the series, the solid steel body is expertly heat-treated from the tip of the sharp blade to the end of the sturdy handle. For a comfortable and secure hold, each knife is ergonomically shaped and equipped with a deep recess in the handle area.

The largest model in the Monolithic Axe and Tool® collection is the Survivalist. Its long, broad Recon Scout-inspired blade is designed for military use as well as hunting, survival and bushcraft applications. The razor-sharp cutting edge, steel hand guard, generous blade belly, strong blade back and stable tip make this knife an excellent choice for almost any endeavor. The Survivalist was forged from a solid piece of steel and is incredibly tough. Therefore, it is perfectly suited for tactical/military use as well as for the needs of prepping and survival.

Additionally, 52100 carbon steel is a tough steel, ideal for fixed hunting knives and other outdoor fixed blades. It is often chosen by knife makers to forge tough, resilient blades that have to withstand merciless conditions.
