Known in Germanic lands as the Great Knife , this sword was used in ancient times throughout central and northern Europe by squires and peasants alike to protect homes and hearths from highwaymen, murderers, highwaymen, and other disreputable figures.

Thanks to its broad, stately blade and generously designed handle, it could be used with one or two hands. It was even possible to cut mail or cut a man in half with a single blow.

This version of this simple and elegant, yet particularly powerful weapon comes from Cold Steel®. Hand-forged from 1055 high-carbon steel, its blade is sharp enough to cut a phone book with a single blow. The crossguard and majestic pommel are made of blued steel. The wooden handle scales are riveted to the tang, which is forged all the way to the pommel.

A sturdy and beautiful wooden scabbard with a black leather cover ensures comfort and safety. Matching the crossguard and pommel, the scabbard is reinforced with a blued steel scabbard and locket.
