Velvet corset. Underbust corset

Medieval velvet corsets, underbust corsage, black form corsets appeared in the 16th century and were part of the undergarment. They had straps and gave the upper body a V-shape. The corset created a high waist, the stomach and breasts were flattened.

In the 18th century, the desired silhouette changed. The hourglass shape became fashionable and the corset did not require a strap.
Corsets are characterized by their extremely shaping properties. They are rigid and are always assigned to underwear.
Corsages (or corsages) are less stiff and are usually worn visibly.

Our underbust corsage is made of black velvet and has a cotton lining. The longitudinal seams are reinforced with rods. These create a wonderfully feminine silhouette when mixed together. The corsage is laced at the front and centre back at waist level. An understep at the centre back hides the space that would otherwise remain free during lacing. The lace is slightly stretchy, which greatly benefits lacing and wearing comfort. Overall, this corsage is unusually comfortable and a real gem.

The velvet corsage can be worn well with a blouse and skirt or over a loose dress. If you don't insist on an authentic look, you can complete your pirate, shield maiden, witch or noble costume with this corsage.
