This medieval coif (also: coiffe) made of simple cotton fabric fits loosely over the head.
Coifs were already worn in the 12th century, as demonstrated by numerous contemporary illustrations.
In the European Middle Ages, the wearing of hats was common and hats of the type we offer here not only covered the heads of children, women and men of the lower classes, but were also worn by warriors (in padded form) under a chainmail coif or helmet.
This nice and unpretentious coif is ideal for medieval markets, LARP, reenactment or history.
