The Viking chest we offer here is handcrafted from wood and fitted with hinges and side handles made of wrought iron. The obverse is decorated with a hand-carved motif of the Midgard serpent Jörmungandr, one of the enemies of the world in Norse mythology.
This beautiful piece of furniture is inspired by the wooden chests that the Vikings carried on board their longships: to save space, these were used not only to store cargo and the crew's belongings, but also as benches for the rowers (hence they are often referred to as rowing boxes, rowing chests or rowing benches).

Whether as a purely decorative piece or as a storage box, this wooden chest is not only a
great storage accessory for reenactments or LARP events, it will also add a touch of Viking style to your home.
