This belt was very typical in Scandinavia and Gotland, in the Baltic Sea, and was also used by the Rus in the area that is now Ukraine. The reason for having the lamellas is to protect the leather of the belt itself and avoid being cut in the middle of a fight by cuts and blows. Belts like this can be seen in the book Viking Age of Gotland by Thunmark-Nylén.
Made of high-quality leather, with a matching end cap and buckle decorated with beautiful filigree work, it stands out, above all, for its riveted brass plates arranged along the body that protect and highlight it, giving it a touch of distinction and elegance. The great length of this belt allows it to be worn on the hip or as a belt on the shoulder, crossed over the chest, which gives it greater versatility and comfort.
